Welcome to our modest contribution
to the history of the war years in Norway. In these entries
there are no reports of major participants and events –
these are already well documented – but we introduce
you to some of our ‘unsung heroes’ and to some,
until now, unknown stories.
Almost daily in the newspapers we read obituaries of men and
women who played an active, and often anonymous, part in the
resistance during the occupation. All were, and are, honoured
by the land they served so well. Arne Skouen spoke for them
all when he described the war as:
“The drama we can never forget
But which influenced us for the rest of our lives,
We who were young in those years.” |
We hope the drama will not be forgotten
by anyone. |
